When should I get tested?

Every test has a window period: the time after sex before it can pick up an infection. Test too early and a negative result might not be real. Enter the date and we’ll work out yours.

This runs in your browser. The date isn’t sent anywhere or saved.

Bud is a journal, not medical advice. Window periods vary from person to person and by test, and these are general guidelines from the CDC. If you test in the early window and it’s negative, test again once the reliable date has passed. If you have symptoms, see a clinician now, whatever the date. If you took PEP, your clinic will give you its own test schedule.

Bud keeps these dates for you.

Log a night and Bud reminds you when each test is due, then keeps your results next to it.
